Through Glass
by Erika Roberts
Through glass… smudged with the fingerprints of life.
The lens…..
Peering into the sands of these uncertain times.
From their windows and porches
A community of faces.
History glowing like torches.
A neighborhood of strength.
The camera is an ignored cannon.
Shooting invisibly
The lens.
An artistic extension of the cornea.
Glass...translucent
Window breaking
shards on the street..
Glass Farm
On the front
Having the patients back
Supporting
Taking up slack
"Feeling" in the gap
Trying not to expect the worst
Essential to who; her family first.
Taking a hope filled
stand together
against an unknown
with a name.
Harmonious in a time
of uncertainty.
Voices speaking to the corners of the soul.
Spreading faith one note at a time.
Vague posturing amid the glare of life.
The smile is seen.
A glowing frame
Quarantined with a friend.
Iron barred door.
Gated eyes.
Protected greeting.
No mask inside for safety resides.
Life is Planted
Love is Potted
Legacy is Placed
Living is Plentiful
Proudly proclaiming
His space
His time
Emotional filament
Trees comforting the skys
Tears will fall as we cover our eyes
window with cat
Comforting window seat.
Curtain opened
Welcomes all into his personal retreat.
Porch Glass St sign
Peeking from the perfect view
3rd close up window
Safe from the virus but vulnerable at this time.
porch leaning on rail
Present and accounted for..
Adding in a four legged friend
Being with family is a peaceful win.
seated on porch
Muted memories reflecting on the glass.
Noses
Lovely and locked
Only the noses know and participate in the folly.
porch in the sun
a gated presence
filling up the sun
last pic standing
Social distancing with a smile
Hugs missing for a while
relaxing &
focused
wont ever forsake us
Getting friendly with his shadow
Without you there is no mE
1st shot
Tricky tree images revealing its roots
kids pointing to lips
Innocence shining bright like lights
Faith in communities that can move mountains.
Find the moments
Of living despite being
Closed off.
Unified in family
Segregated to yards
Protected on their Porches
Village within walls
virtual for there is
no option
Through glass cleaned with optimism
Unbreakable bonds
Sharing this amidst the mist of fear
Changing how you view normalcy
Turning the mute off of memories
hearing them louder.
From their windows and porches
A community of faces.
History glowing like torches.
A neighborhood of strength.
